Hilltop Wedding

I have to start this post with a toast:

To all the homeowners who have made enough money to own two homes AND convert one into a banquet hall, I applaud you. You keep that mind on that money ;)

So this is the view from the house that grew up to be a wedding venue
Of course every dream home wedding venue comes with a courtyard and fountain. We were requested to fill it with petals :)
The ceremony was held under a gazebo decorated with pomanders.

The bride wanted to keep things simple and asked for hand-tied clusters of hydrangea as pews.
Didn't have time to take a picture of the bridal bouquet in the "studio" so I just had to make due with the trunk of Bernie's car.
FACT: Daisy's make great boutonnieres :)

Centerpieces for the reception

Before leaving, Bernie and I took a quick stroll around the venue. These flowers are forever sentenced to a lifetime of a great view. <jealous>
After a successful wedding, one must always reward oneself with a drink and dessert. This is a wedding-MUST.

I am now officially addicted to Black Sesame Ice Cream with Black Honey :D

Puddles

Last night was an awesome sleep. All snuggled up in bed during a t-storm is my cup of tea.

Went to work for a bit today. Well, I didn't technically work. Unless you call feeding flowers carbon dioxide work.. then you are looking at the employee of the month! Okay, seriously I was there for "creative development" -- fancy term I just made up for when a client tells you a price limit and you can go apeshit. So basically, the client requested a get-well-soon arrangement with an "english garden" theme. Clearly, this client has great taste. This was what we came up with:

Some close ups:

The best part was delivering this baby. Why? Because thanks to the rain the greater part of Los Angeles' driveways were flooded. Bernie didn't want to get his shoes soaked so he asked me to deliver instead, which was fiiiiiine by me; I get to test out my rainboots! I submerged my foot ankle deep and stomped around like any rice paddy worker would. 100% waterproof. So all you rainboot deprived people, get yours at Target now! Rain is coming back Wednesday. Be prepared :)

blorthday

blog + birthday = blorthday.

Spent a good twenty minutes with the best friend to come up with a username. This was the best we could do.
